Hello again, friends—
I hope everyone who celebrates had a wonderful Thanksgiving week, and got to spend lots of time with friends and family. I can’t believe it’s already December!
December always brings a strange mix of stillness and noise. Everything outside slows down, but everything online seems to speed up… sales, parties, ads, countdowns, all of it begging for our attention. It’s easy to confuse stimulation for meaning this time of year.
But renewal isn’t about consumption, it’s about curation. About making sure what you’re letting in—whether it’s people, purchases, or ideas—is actually serving you. The point isn’t to reject pleasure or celebration; it’s to protect your internal signal so you don’t start the new year already running on empty. And that’s exactly that sentiment and awareness I wanted to bring to our December journaling prompts.
December’s theme is renewal.
Not in the “new year, new me” sense, but in the quieter, more sustainable way. Renewal as in: clearing what’s stale, pruning what’s grown too heavy, and reorienting toward what still feels alive.
As always, I’ve put together 31 prompts for the month—one for each day, or whenever you want to pause and recenter. They’re meant to help you reset your inputs, regain your focus, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that can’t be bought, optimized, or added to cart.
I don’t know about you, but something about the end of this year feels a little different than previous years. I’ve been doing bigger, deeper reflections… maybe it’s just me getting older. At any rate, I hope you’re ready for a month of reflecting and preparing for the new year, because I’ve been working hard behind the scenes to put together lots of resources for those who are ready to do the work and make real, sustainable changes in their lives.
Consider these prompts ‘phase 1’ of that journey :)

Week 1 — The Noise
Start by noticing how much input you’re taking in… what’s shaping your energy, your spending, your mood.
What kind of “holiday pressure” are you feeling most this year?
How much of your current stress is self-imposed?
Where are you spending time, money, or attention that doesn’t feel aligned?
What notifications, habits, or platforms are cluttering your mind?
What would “less noise” actually look like for you this month? Next year?
What are three things that always leave you feeling overstimulated?
What’s one boundary you could set to protect your focus during the holidays?
Before you can renew, you have to reduce interference. This week is about identifying what’s hijacking your attention, because that’s the real currency of December. When you start protecting your inputs, you reclaim agency. Every “no” to noise becomes a quiet “yes” to clarity.
